ABOUT LINSEED

Linseed is an exciting new barn conversion, lovingly restored by Georgiana and Simon, the hosts of Stamford Holiday Cottages at Carr’s Lodge Farm.

The luxury two-bedroom, two bathroom holiday home is located on the outskirts of the beautiful, Georgian stone town of Stamford in Lincolnshire.

Linseed features a stunning, double height, open-plan living space with a log burner, comfortable seating for 4 and a well equipped, beautiful kitchen. The living space opens, via full width bifold doors, onto a generous patio area, with bbq and seating for 4. From here, you can enjoy fantastic views over open fields, looking towards Uffington village and Burghley House.

The living room and both bedrooms are equipped with Smart TVs, giving the ability to stream Netflix and other online channels.

The principal bedroom features a king size bed, en-suite bathroom with full size bath and separate walk-in rainfall shower. There is a chest of drawers and hanging space so that you can unpack and feel truly at home.

The second bedroom (although there is nothing secondary about it), offers either twin or super-king bed configuration with en-suite bathroom featuring a large walk-in rainfall shower and large vanity unit. Again, you will find a hanging space and chest of drawers.

All towels and luxurious Egyptian cotton percale bed linen are supplied, with hand soap and body wash also provided.

Guests of all ages are very welcome. The stair free access makes Linseed wheelchair and buggy friendly, although if you are a wheelchair user, we ask that you please call before booking to discuss specific requirements. We have a full size cot and high chair available upon request, with linens available, although we understand guests may wish to bring their own.

Although no longer a working farm, Carr’s Lodge Farm still feels beautifully rural. You can enjoy seeing the 6 chickens and 2  geese that live in the fenced paddock within the yard. There is grain available if you wish to feed the chickens yourself. They are really tame!

LOCATION

NEIGHBOURHOOD

Linseed is located just under a mile away from England’s finest stone town, Stamford, which can be accessed via footpath and a short stretch on the road. The glorious Burghley House is a stone’s throw away and is a ‘must visit’ if you are here.

We are approximately a five minute taxi ride from the train station and we can recommend the best taxi companies to use.

Stamford itself is easily accessible from the A1 and historically was the popular night stop for carriages travelling between London and York. For this reason, there are so many quirky bars, pubs and restaurants, including the infamous George Hotel.

Our carefully curated online guidebook will help point you in the direction of all the best places to eat, drink, visit and relax during your stay.

ABOUT THE SILOS

The Silos are our latest conversion project, lovingly restored by Georgiana and Simon, the hosts of Stamford Holiday Cottages at Carr’s Lodge Farm.

The Silos have been designed as a luxurious couples’ retreat, with careful attention to detail throughout. They are located here at Carr’s Lodge Farm, just outside Stamford in Lincolnshire.

The Silos were built in the 1970’s to store grain after harvest and sadly sat empty for the last five years. They have been given a new lease of life with the injection of a lot of creativity and hard work!

They are no longer tin shells, but fully insulated structures with underfloor heating, double glazing and the most beautiful high ceilings. There’s something about being in a circular structure that gives a real sense of calm, added to by the floor to ceiling views of nothing but countryside. It’s a truly relaxing place to snuggle down and escape with a loved one.

With your own private garden with barbecue, there really is no need to go anywhere, but should you wish to venture back into the ‘real world’, the beautiful town of Stamford is right on the doorstep and is a real treasure trove of restaurants and shops.

All towels and luxurious Egyptian cotton percale bed linen are supplied, with hand soap and body wash also provided.

Although no longer a working farm, Carr’s Lodge Farm still feels beautifully rural. You can enjoy seeing the chickens and 2  geese that live in the fenced paddock within the yard. There is grain available if you wish to feed the chickens yourself. They are really tame!

ABOUT THE HOSTS

Simon is the brains behind the business and I am ‘the frills’ – It’s very much a team effort.

Together, we want to bring the life back into this beautiful farmyard and at the same time, offer a luxurious and carefully thought out holiday experience for our guests.

We first bought Carr’s Lodge Farm in 2019, then spent the first Lockdown working our socks off! Most of the buildings on the plot were derelict and the yard was certainly not an area of beauty. However, with the help of a fantastic team of tradespeople and friends, we are getting there!

Linseed Barn is the first of our projects; a two bedroom barn conversion, perfect for a week’s holiday, or a long weekend. Family friendly and also ideal for two couples or a group of friends wanting to spend time in this beautiful part of England.

Our second project has seen the transformation of two grain silos into a totally individual 1 bedroom conversion, offering a really unique luxury holiday experience, perfect for couples.

Please follow us on social media to stay up-to-date with our exciting developments. @stamfordholidaycottages

We look forward to hosting you soon.

Best Wishes,

Georgiana and Simon
